The Brooch

This brooch has been on my to do list for a while now. I bought a lovely merino shawl in New Zealand but always thought a handmade brooch to tie it would be perfect.
Currently I am living back at home so space is limited. Therefore I have started experimenting with air dry clay or modelling clay. It is a lot lighter therefore suits jewellery making. As you have seen in my previous post I have been thinking of designing a collection based on Scottish flowers. So where best to start - the thistle.
The picture shows the process, taking about 3 days. I'm going to a wedding this weekend so will definitely be showing it off with the merino shaw!
